About

About

Born in Chicago but raised all over the nation, Leah Jackson began her theatrical endeavors after being inspired by a touring production of Wicked. Upon reaching university, she spread her wings into other endeavors, starting with playwriting and then moving into directing. She still considers herself a performer, but is excited to explore new opportunities in these fields as well.

Leah believes strongly in the power of representation and inclusion, as well as boundary-pushing narratives. As an actor, she wants to explore roles that challenge pre-determined conceptions of theatre and Black women's place in said theatre. As a director and playwright, she wants to reclaim stories for Black, queer theatre artists and audiences.
